What You Need To Travel To Mexico By Air

If you are traveling to Mexico via air, you must have a valid passport book, a passport card is not an acceptable form of ID when traveling to Mexico via air. Also note, your passport must be valid in order to board the aircraft. I recommend that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival however, this is not required but is rather a safety precaution.

Regardless of how you enter into Mexico, a Forma Migratoria Multiple (FMM) is required for entry and is valid for up to 180 days upon arrival in Mexico. You can get your FMM either on your flight, or you may fill one out and print it ahead of time here.
